TODDLER PROGRAM
Discovering the Joy of “I Can Do It”
18 months–3 years
The toddler years are filled with incredible growth. Children are developing language, movement, independence, social skills, and a growing understanding of themselves and the world around them.
At GMS, our Toddler Program gives children the freedom to explore and the guidance they need to become increasingly independent.
A Classroom Designed for Toddlers
Our prepared environment is carefully designed for young children. Materials are accessible, purposeful, and developmentally appropriate, allowing children to choose activities, practice new skills, and experience the satisfaction of doing things for themselves.
Following the Child
We recognize that every child develops at their own pace. Our teachers observe closely and use what they see to determine when a child is ready for a new experience or challenge.
Rather than expecting every child to reach the same milestone at the same time, we meet each child where they are and help them take their next step.
Independence in Everyday Learning
Toddlers are eager to participate in the world around them. Everyday activities become opportunities to develop coordination, concentration, responsibility, and confidence.
Children learn to care for themselves, their classroom, and one another while developing the skills needed to become increasingly capable and independent.
Movement, Language & Community
Toddlers learn through active exploration. Our environment allows children to move freely while learning to respect the space and concentration of others.
Teachers model grace and courtesy through calm voices, respectful communication, and thoughtful interactions. Children gradually learn how to express themselves, solve problems, and participate in their classroom community.
Judaic Learning
At GMS, Jewish learning begins in the everyday experiences of childhood. Toddlers are introduced to Jewish traditions, values, and celebrations in ways that are meaningful and age-appropriate.
Through stories, songs, rituals, classroom experiences, and celebrations, children begin to develop a sense of connection to Jewish life and community. These early experiences help children experience Jewish traditions as a natural and joyful part of their lives.
Growing Confidence
The Toddler Program is a beautiful bridge between dependence and independence.
At GMS, we give toddlers the time, space, and encouragement to discover what they can do - building the confidence to say, “I can!”
Small steps today become confident strides tomorrow.
