INFANT PROGRAM

A Gentle Beginning to a Lifetime of Learning

8 weeks–18 months
The earliest years are a remarkable time of growth and discovery. At Goldberg Montessori School, our Infant Program provides a warm, nurturing environment where babies feel secure, develop meaningful relationships, and are encouraged to explore the world around them.

A Prepared Environment
Our Infant environment is thoughtfully designed around the needs of young children. Calm, beautiful, and orderly spaces invite babies to move, explore, observe, and discover at their own pace.

Materials and experiences are carefully selected to support each stage of development, giving children opportunities to build coordination, concentration, and independence.

Following the Child
Every child develops in their own way and on their own timetable. Our teachers carefully observe each child, recognizing their interests and emerging abilities and offering experiences when they are ready.

This Montessori practice of “following the child” allows children to grow naturally while receiving the support and encouragement they need.

Growing Through Movement and Exploration
Movement is an important part of early learning. Babies are given opportunities to move freely and explore their environment, gradually gaining greater control of their bodies and discovering what they can do independently.

Our teachers model calm, respectful interactions and create a peaceful environment where each child feels known, valued, and cared for.

Building a Foundation for Independence
Even in infancy, children are beginning to develop a sense of independence. Through everyday experiences, they learn to reach, grasp, move, communicate, make choices, and engage with the world around them.

At GMS, we honor these first steps and provide an environment where children can grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.

We honor the path of each child from the very beginning.
